About Jeanne

Jeanne Haner

Jeanne Haner, a Houstonian since 1982, has evolved into a well know designer of *Dichroic Glass Jewelry. Her artwork is created by making a glass sandwich of dichroic glass in her studio in Spring, Texas.

Her public exposure in Houston began at the Yale Street Art Market now called the First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights where she has been a regular exhibitor/vendor since 2005.

Last year, at the request of NASA Jeanne provided pieces for their 50th anniversary of the Space Shuttle and she also had a summer long exhibit at the Barbara Bush Library.

Jeanne is associated and involved with the following organizations: IGGA (International Guild of Glass Artists) , HGMS (The Houston Gem and Mineral Society), TPG (The Professional Group of Houston) and is currently the President of WIVLA (Women in the Visual and Literary Arts).

*Dichroic glass was developed in the 1950’s and 1960’s by NASA, the Department of Defense and their contractors.  It is a technology wherein extremely thin film of metal is vacuum deposited on a glass surface.  The coated glass shields sensitive spacecraft instruments from the harmful effects of cosmic radiation or protects human vision from the harsh glare of unfiltered sunlight  in space and it is now being used as a high technology art form.* Description was written by NASA personnel.

  • Jeanne, I am so glad to have found you! I was at the “Wearable Art” show in Timbergrove and bought a beautiful blue/black pendant from you except I never paid for it. You said “send me a check” but I didn’t get your address…I love the pendant and it looks fabulous with the jacket I was thinking of. Please send me a mailing address so I can take care of this. Thank you for the beautiful work!
